Strawberries & Cream

I’ve had a few sessions recently on Drinkwater Park Lake, which is the closest fishing venue to my home. Mostly its been lots of jack pike falling to spinners, but i had this lovely net of roach on hemp and caster.

Many people think that hemp and caster is a summer combination, but I’ve found over the years that it works just as well in winter.
I’m looking to get a couple of hours on the Ribble tomorrow afternoon and use up my remaining bait – hopefully the roach in the river will be equally obliging.
